Blockchain in Oman’s Logistics Sector

Thomas Sproat is currently the Senior Director of Global Network Development for Tradelens. He is a graduate of Maritime College, with previous experience as a third officer on merchant vessels. He brings over 35 years of industry experience, the last 25 of which have been with Maersk Line and P&O Nedlloyd. He has held roles in multiple disciplines in the industry, including senior management roles in terminal and marine operations, customer service, and various IT-related projects. Before Tradelens, he was the regional head of Safmarine-North America, where he was responsible for growing the business and improving the customer experience. Prior to that role, he was the Head of Global Customer Service for Maersk Line, based in Copenhagen.

Sunil Joseph is the CCO of the Port of Salalah. He has over 25 years of experience in shipping, with 19 years spent in liner shipping and six at terminals.

Colonel Said al Ghaithi is currently the Deputy Director General of Customs in Oman. He holds a PhD in law with 29 years of experience in the field of police and security. He was also the first customs attaché to the World Customs Organization in Brussels.

Elena Barreiro Perez has been the Country Director for The Business Year in Oman for three years. She has over 10 years of experience in communications, marketing, and business development for both corporations and media companies. She graduated from ESIC Business School with a master's degree in international business. Whilst in the field, she has established relationships with business leaders and led countless high-profile presentations and interviews with executives, ministers, investors, and other politicians around the world. She has successfully managed projects in France, the Dominican Republic, the UAE, Lebanon, and Oman.

Han Le is The Business Year's Managing Director for the Latam region. During his career in TBY, he has been based in Latin America, Africa and the Middle East. Before joining TBY, he worked in various media outlets in the Middle East and North Africa region.
