With President Nyusi now in his second term, the government has put industrialization on the top of its agenda. The new Minister of Industry and Trade, Carlos Mesquita, has unveiled a strategy for industrialization that envisages a strong focus on agribusiness, entrepreneurship, local and rural development, and private sector involvement. The private sector, on its side, has reorganized to engage the government in a productive negotiation, outlining a comprehensive agenda of challenges and opportunities that private and public sectors need to tackle together. Through this Digital Roundtable, The Business Year is inviting some of the most prominent stakeholders in Mozambican industry to shed light on this public-private dialog and articulate the main priorities for further developing industrial strength, including financial barriers to energy access, infrastructure, and training. Our panel of industry experts and leaders will explore possible solutions to these challenges and highlight the main opportunities Mozambique offers.
