Understanding the New Rules of the Game

Ildefonso Guajardo is a federal deputy in the LXV Legislature, Secretariat of the Economy, Trade and Competitiveness Committee; a member of the finance and public credit and foreign affairs committees, and chairman of the Mexico-Canada Inter-parliamentary Group. He was chief economist of the Brazil section and associate economist in the fiscal affairs department at the IMF from 1988 to 1991, and managed the Office for Free Trade Agreement Affairs in Washington DC in the Mexican embassy until 1994. Ildefonso was previously senior official at the Secretary of Foreign Affairs; Undersecretary of Tourism Development; and Technical Secretary of Planning, Communication and Liaison at the Ministry of Commerce and Industrial Development. He served as Secretary of Economy for the federal government from 2012 to 2018. He has also served in additional public sector roles including federal deputy in the LVIII Legislature. At the state level, he was chief of the Executive Office of the Governor, local deputy, and federal deputy of the State of Nuevo Leon. He holds a bachelor's degree in economy from the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, and completed postgraduate studies in economy from Arizona State University and the University of Pennsylvania.

Antonio Tejedo Obregón has 20 years of solid experience in the financial and corporate sector. He currently serves as Vice President of Investor Relations at TRAXION. He was the director of investor relations and capital markets at Fibra Uno, and also founded and held the position of managing partner at Investia Asesores. He holds a BS in industrial Eegineering from Universidad Iberoamericana and an MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.

He has a master's degree from the French Petroleum Institute, and doctoral studies at the Paris business school. Arturo J. Saval is the President of Nexxus Capital, one of the main private capital fund managers in Mexico. He has over 37 years of experience in private capital, investment banking, and commercial banking. He has participated in a wide number of M&As and private allocations and has offered financial advisory in multiple projects. Before joining Nexxus Capital in 1998, he held directive positions in Santander and Grupo GBM. He is also a board member of Grupo Hotelero Santa Fe and AN Global, and presides over several committees.

Claudia Jañez is a Mexican businesswoman and an independent advisor on the board of directors for several firms, including América Móvil, Grupo Industrial Saltillo (GIS), IDEAL, HSBC Mexico, and of the Mexican Stock Exchange. She was formerly the President of the executive council of global companies in Mexico and president for Latin America and global director of diversity and inclusion at DuPont. She has a long career with more than 25 years of experience working in global companies in different industries such as GE, PepsiCo, and Ford. She has also been recognized as one of the most important and influential leaders in business. She earned a law degree with honors from Universidad La Salle and has a specialty in commercial and financial law from Universidad Panamericana. She holds a diploma in negotiation from Harvard Law School and an MBA (MEDEX) from IPADE Business School.

Federico Cerdas is co-founder of Global Businesses Inc. (2002), CRDS Holdings (2016), and Cobra Development Fund (2018). Additionally, he created two brands to represent his group in the sector: Skyhaus, focused on homes for sale, and Viveh, focused on rental housing. He graduated as a mechanical electrical engineer from Tecnológico de Monterrey and has a master's degree in business management from IPADE. He participates regularly in the most important forums of his sector in cities such as New York, San Francisco, Miami, London, and Mexico City, among others.

María Ariza García Migoya is an industrial engineer from Universidad Iberoamericana and has a master's degree in business management with a concentration in finance from Harvard. She spent her entire professional life in the private equity sector, holding positions such as CEO of the Mexican Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (AMEXCAP); partner at Ictus Capital; and associate at the NAFTA Fund LLC. She also works as CEO at Bolsa Institutional de Valores (BIVA), a global electronic marketplace for buying and selling securities. Additionally, she serves as an independent member and partner of various boards. Her career has been recognized with award, including from the Women Economic Forum, the International Entrepreneurs Council, and in publications such as Expansión, Forbes, Líderes, and Revista 2020, among others.

Federica is a professional with 10 years of experience in sales and customer management. Graduated in Management from Bocconi University in Italy and with a double degree in Strategic Management from RSM in Holland, she has covered different sales roles in different industries. She is actually Regional Director for Latin America at TBY, a position she joined two years ago, after having managed projects in Kazakhstan, UAE, Colombia and Jamaica.

Alejandra Gómez is an internationalist with a background in business analysis and publishing for both print and digital media. As Country Director in Mexico for The Business Year, a media platform based in London that promotes investment in emerging markets, she regularly interviews high-level executives and public-sector authorities. In 2017, she was selected to join the Emerging Leaders Fellowship as one of 20 international world change agents that participated in the San Francisco Program and was given the Zonta International Young Women in Public Affairs Award in 2011. She studied a double major in international relations and business administration and is currently a CFA candidate.
