Julio Juárez Gámiz

Julio Juárez Gámiz is a researcher at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Sciences and Humanities (CEIICH) at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and a member of the National System of Researchers at Level II. He holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from UNAM, a master's, and a PhD in political communication from the University of Sheffield, UK. He is a graduate and undergraduate professor at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences at UNAM. Between 2015 and 2023, he was an advisor to the presidency of the General Council of the National Electoral Institute. In 2021, he received the Fulbright García-Robles scholarship to teach the Mexico Studies Chair at the University of Notre Dame in the fall semester. In February 2023, he coordinated the seminar "The Electoral Plan B: Equity, Austerity, or Uncertainty?" at the Institute of Legal Research of UNAM. Among his recent publications are the books Essays on Government Communication in the 'Fourth Transformation': Change or Continuity? CEIICH-UNAM, and the Routledge International Handbook on Electoral Debates, which presents cases from 27 different countries regarding the organization of electoral debates.
