Unlocking Mexico’s Nearshoring Horizon

Simon Masri Askenazi, a seasoned entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, embarked on his journey by founding Networks México. Over the years, he has strategically integrated various organizations, culminating in the establishment of one of the most successful and consolidated business groups in the country, C3ntro Telecom, where he currently serves as President and CEO. He holds a degree in civil engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana.

Amet Novillo has more than 25 years of experience in business IT and telecommunications environments at companies like Axtel and Alestra, with a high level of commitment, customer-focused, and customer-oriented commercial strategy. Novillo obtained a degree in telecommunications engineering from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, an MBA in business administration and finance, as well as various certificates from internationally recognized schools.

Andrés Brügmann is a chemical engineer from UNAM, holds a master's in business administration from IPADE, and has postgraduate studies at Stanford and Wharton. Currently, he serves as the vice president of Hokchi Energy and is the President of the Mexican Association of Hydrocarbon Companies (AMEXHI). With over 20 years of experience in the industry, he has a wealth of expertise. Previously, he held the position of general director at Fieldwood Energy Mexico, overseeing the operations of the Ichalkil and Pokoch fields, which are currently among the projects with the largest reserves in the country. Before that, he served as the director of QRI, a consulting firm specializing in reservoir management, and spent over eight years working at Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex).

Federico Cerdas is co-founder of Global Businesses Inc. (2002), CRDS Holdings (2016), and Cobra Development Fund (2018). Additionally, he created two brands to represent his group in the sector: Skyhaus focused on homes for sale; and Viveh focused on rental housing. He graduated as a mechanical electrical engineer from Tecnológico de Monterrey and has a master’s degree in business management from IPADE. He participates regularly in the most important forums of his sector in cities such as New York, San Francisco, Miami, London, and Mexico City, among others.

Martín Toscano has over 20 years of experience in general management, sales and marketing, business administration, operations, and supply chain. He has worked in multiple regions and countries, including Argentina, Brazil, the US, and Germany. Before assuming his role as President of Evonik Industries of Mexico, he was vice president & regional head of Latin America for the nutrition and care segment as well as regional business director for the animal nutrition line at Evonik Industries in São Paulo.

Raul Hernandez is Country Manager at CloudHQ. He has more than 23 years of experience in development, real estate, and construction and has successfully delivered industrial and energy projects for companies like Bimbo and DHL. Hernandez has a civil engineering degree from Monterrey Tech, an MBA from EGADE, and a real estate, finance, and development certificate from MIT. For a couple of years, Raúl Hernández served as president of the Mexican Chamber of the Construction Industry.

Eurídice Ibarlucea is an architectural engineer from the Superior School of Engineering and Architecture at the National Polytechnic Institute in Mexico. She also holds specializations in engineering and project management, as well as operations management, from the Panamerican University. She has obtained a master's degree in engineering from the same university. She has received technical training through the fire protection systems diploma offered by IIAR and recognized by NFPA. She has worked professionally in the Mexican fire protection market for the past 18 years, collaborating with specialized fire protection contracting companies and manufacturers such as UTC Fire and Security and 3M. Her contribution was key in the positioning of next-generation clean agents in Mexico.

Ana Ludlow has over 23 years of experience in the energy sector in Mexico and the US. She has held various managerial positions in the natural gas market, in distribution, transportation, and commercialization, as well as in the electricity market, both in energy generation and supply.

His focus lies in new business development and internationalization, leveraging a profound understanding of cultural and economic intricacies across various markets. His ability to adapt to diverse environments and grasp cultural nuances has enabled him to forge strong connections and establish effective strategies for global business success. Julio Revollo has 20 years of experience in leadership, marketing, and sales in various countries in Latin America and two different industries, oil and gas and construction. He is currently responsible for Hilti's commercial strategy, driving sales through innovation, consultative selling, and development of high-potential accounts.

Julio Juárez Gámiz is a researcher at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Sciences and Humanities (CEIICH) at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and a member of the National System of Researchers at Level II. He holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from UNAM, a master's, and a PhD in political communication from the University of Sheffield, UK. He is a graduate and undergraduate professor at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences at UNAM. Between 2015 and 2023, he was an advisor to the presidency of the General Council of the National Electoral Institute. In 2021, he received the Fulbright García-Robles scholarship to teach the Mexico Studies Chair at the University of Notre Dame in the fall semester. In February 2023, he coordinated the seminar "The Electoral Plan B: Equity, Austerity, or Uncertainty?" at the Institute of Legal Research of UNAM. Among his recent publications are the books Essays on Government Communication in the 'Fourth Transformation': Change or Continuity? CEIICH-UNAM, and the Routledge International Handbook on Electoral Debates, which presents cases from 27 different countries regarding the organization of electoral debates.
