Bio

Fahad AlQafari has over 23 years of experience and is a member of the board of directors for several companies, a member of the Saudi Contractors Authority, and the CEO of Al Majal Al Arabi Holding.

"Since its incorporation in 1991, Al Majal Al Arabi Holding has grown to meet the various economic and developmental needs of Saudi Arabia’s market."

Al Majal Al Arabi Holding has vast experience across Saudi Arabia and is plying its trade on a range of mega and gigaprojects, as well as with both public and private organizations.

Al Majal Al Arabi Holding aims to build and create a better future. Can you elaborate on that motto?

Since its incorporation in 1991, Al Majal Al Arabi Holding has grown to meet the various economic and developmental needs of Saudi Arabia’s market. We are a turnkey service provider and a well-established market leader in various sectors that are key to the ultimate success of private and governmental contracting projects, amongst which are catering, manpower resources, facilities management, construction and contracting, technical systems, operations and maintenance, MEP, and environmental services. We are also a market front runner in trade, real estate, communications, IT, and healthcare. Our 12 companies operate across different industries and provide expert, hands-on services to our clients, assisting them to run their businesses more smoothly. Moreover, we deliver solutions with unrivaled speed and accuracy, enabling our clients to stay ahead in their markets. As a dynamic, stable, and innovative partner to key government agencies and private-sector companies, we are involved in the leading mega and gigaprojects that are shaping the landscape of KSA. For example, on the Red Sea project, we design, construct, operate, and manage projects knowing that Al Majal has proved itself as a one-stop-shop through its diversified portfolio of services. Furthermore, we hold approximately 20-25% of the catering market in the health sector. The projects we handle in both Taif and Hail are an excellent example of the way we operate. In Taif, we constructed an entire health city and handle the facility management, catering, and support for the hospital. We are currently running one of the biggest projects in hospitals in Hail, called Hail 300, a 300-bed hospital. We also constructed King Salman Specialized Hospital. We lead the sector, though our operations are not just limited to construction. We also operate and provide a full service. In Hail as well, we manage the city cleaning. We are well-positioned to support the development of the nation, as we operate in several sectors, contributing to the diversification of the national economy, in line with the guidelines of Vision 2030. Our solid and active collaborations in Neom, on the Red Sea project, Mecca, and Jubail, among many others, reaffirm us as the ideal partner for the development of the new Saudi Arabia and its future.

How has your portfolio of projects been evolving over the years?

We have always been involved in leading projects. We are among the first companies that started capitalizing on the transformation of the Saudi market. Before, we were mainly involved in government projects, though today the private sector drives our growth and expansion. Private companies are now investing in developing industrial projects in Jubail, while the healthcare sector—underpinned by private investors—is witnessing a real renaissance. We are well positioned to capitalize on all these developments.

What projects are you particularly excited about?

In terms of facility management, we managed to land a 10-year contract handling the facility management of lines 1 and 2 of the Riyadh Metro, which is around 60% of the total network, including the iconic LEED-certified stations. Elsewhere, a major historical milestone was accomplished when we were awarded the facility management project of the Two Holy Mosques, which represents a matter of pride for our group. Flexibility and a strong focus make us a reliable partner, and we shape our competitive advantages based on these concepts. That is how we lead the market and how we innovate, depending on the market’s needs and anticipations based on Vision 2030.

What are your main targets and focus for the coming year?

We are focused on executing all the projects we are involved in on time and to the highest quality and standards with excellence in execution. We will continue to deliver exceptional, effective, and efficient solutions driving our brand reputation in leading the markets and raising the bar of competition for a better future for our country. At the same time, our main objective is to match the needs of all our clients with the highest prospective satisfaction rate while ensuring competitive working conditions for the professional fulfillment of our employees, as well as the wellbeing of the communities in the areas we work in.
