Editor-in-Chief, Mercado Media Network
Bio
Patricia de Moya is the Editor-in-Chief of Mercado Media Network, a company that creates and publishes publications for the world of business. She injects her personal style into each publication, and Mercado has secured interviews with personalities such as Steve Forbes, Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, Gustavo Cisneros, and Oscar de la Renta.
Our editorial format has strictly focused on covering the main activities of the business world. We do serious and objective journalism that works as a consulting and update tool for business-related sectors.
Special editions are basically to fill the space of the long-awaited “rankings.” Mercado Media Network has been conducting studies that reflect the image and behavior of companies within their corporate performance for a decade already. In this context, we publish five special editions dedicated to update companies within specific business areas. The surveys aimed at measuring the “Most Admired Companies” is our most awaited special edition, for it sets out which are the most innovative and economically powerful companies, with higher managerial capacity, and the most prominent in terms of social responsibility. At the same time, the two editions of “Women of Power and Success” presents the ranking of the most outstanding women in their work areas reflecting their commitment and leadership, as well as their efforts. The special issue on “Companies You Would Like To Work For” is a valuable contribution to human resources. Finally, we make a special edition on different lifestyles, which has a larger format than usual.
Since its inception, the magazine aimed at going beyond national borders. During the first five years, we focused on positioning the brand locally and then, with the first publishing partnership with the publishing house Crain Communications, our internationalization process took off. We always believed that international publishing alliances with key and leading publications would strengthen our content proposal, making us more competitive and positioning our brand as a reference publication within the business world in the Caribbean region. For example, in 2013 we successfully entered Haiti, and we plan to further expand our presence to other Caribbean islands too.
In such a globalized and competitive world, it is essential to recognize the work of those entrepreneurs who stand out for their contributions and have contributed to the economy of our country. Many of these entrepreneurs have something in common: attitude and character. They serve as an example of businessmen enjoying a triumph recognized by the community.
We live with constant challenges, for being in the print media means that we must prepare ourselves to live up to the update that the digital world brings. With the arrival of our 20th anniversary, we realize the strength of our product. We expect to continue expanding our presence abroad and sign new publishing partnerships and alliances with new media formats, which will enable us to continue being the leading source of information among the business world. We recently diversified our market by acquiring the franchise of Hello in the Dominican Republic, and in the last few years we have further strengthened and consolidated our position. Our main goal is to become a multi-media company.
