"Our licenses allow us to manage, advise on, and execute investments for our clients."
Karim Sehnaoui is Senior Executive Officer of ADS Investment Solutions Limited.
What is ADS Investment Solutions’ strategy to encourage premium wealth and asset management services?

Our licenses allow us to manage, advise on, and execute investments for our clients. We are also able to help companies structure their assets and set up SPVs in ADGM, including funds or foundations. Each client has a different profile, different needs and different requirements. Our job is to make sure that we understand them, their personal situation, needs, and goals before we make any recommendations on the services or suitable investment solutions. The first law in finance is diversification. Then, it is a matter of the risk appetite of the client. Our investment team uses a strategy that combines equities and fixed income. In recent years, however, we have seen the limits of what we call the 60-40 strategy of fixed income, which is why we also try to incorporate two additional factors when managing our clients’ portfolios. The first one is private markets, which can be hedge funds, structured products, private equity, or venture capital. The second factor is leveraging technology, especially by using algorithms and AI. We also perform extensive quantitative modelling for an increasing number of clients.

To what extent do safety and multi-market accessibility factor in your clients’ investments?

Safety is a top priority for us, as most of our clients are relatively conservative in their investments. That is why monthly market accessibility has always been included in our offering from day one. Moreover, we operate as an open architecture, which means we have connections with banks and issuers from all over the world. The real challenge is to read the signals as early as possible to be able to adjust and protect our clients where we can. We exited China at the right time, for instance, and we returned at the right time too. We thought of technology at the right time as well. That is why having experts able to carefully listen to what is happening and pick up on the signals and react early on is so important. The more they are able to do that, the better they can protect our clients.
