"While our portfolio prominently features public sector clients, our reach does extend to the private sector."
TBY talks to Khalf Alotaibi, General Manager & Director General of the Airports Sector of SAFWA, about general operations, client portfolio, and priorities for the coming year.
What does SAFWA do, and how has it developed over the years?

SAFWA, established in 2016, has evolved into a premier transportation service provider with a distinguished fleet of vehicles, including luxury cars equipped with accessories like phone charging cables. Our journey began with a strategic vision centered on delivering unparalleled service characterized by honesty, credibility, and sincerity. Pioneering the realm of specialized transportation in our country, SAFWA is the first company offering luxury drivers and limousines, aligning perfectly with our specific sectoral focus. Today, our fleet comprises approximately 2,000 specialized vehicles and boasts a team of 1,060 sponsored drivers, emphasizing our commitment to principled leadership and seamless integration. Beyond transportation, we extend services related to conferences, exhibitions, guest receptions at airports, and specialized vehicles for individuals with different abilities. Our exclusive contracts with Saudi Authority for Railways (SAR) enable us to cover both airports and train stations, catering to diverse requirements. The unique aspect of SAFWA lies in our comprehensive offerings—ranging from luxury cars and green smart taxis to exclusive services at airports, train stations, clocktowers, and hotels in key cities such as Jeddah, Mecca, and Medina. Our contracts span various sectors, positioning us as a versatile service provider capable of catering to a wide array of clientele. In a competitive market, our advantage stems from the strategic incorporation of green smart taxis and luxury cars, especially supporting major airports across the Saudi Arabia. We take pride in aligning our services with the objectives outlined in Vision 2030. The introduction of such projects at airports signifies our pioneering approach, further reinforced by forthcoming contracts in Mecca. Our involvement in major exhibitions across Saudi Arabia, notably the upcoming World Defense Show, underscores our prowess in securing partnerships through a rigorous bidding process. This success hinges on our extensive experience, diverse fleet, attentive drivers, and an unwavering commitment to impeccable service.

There are many public sector clients in your portfolio, but what about the private sector? How is your portfolio currently structured and where are you investing the most?

While our portfolio prominently features public sector clients, our reach does extend to the private sector. Our structured portfolio caters to diverse segments, catering to business and tourism, ensuring round-trip, all-inclusive transportation packages. Regardless of the target client, our commitment to consistent standards of cleanliness, service excellence, and well-trained drivers remains unwavering, leaving our clients satisfied and cared for. Looking ahead, our expansion plans are primarily focused on the Gulf region, specifically targeting the UAE and Bahrain. While maintaining strategic goals within Saudi Arabia, our vision extends to venturing beyond the Kingdom’s borders, with aspirations to establish a presence in other countries. To amplify brand recognition, our active participation in exhibitions in regions like the UAE and Qatar provides a vital platform for brand exposure. This exposure often translates into direct contacts with potential clients, facilitated by our sales department. Moreover, our presence at airports—manifested through counters in international and domestic terminals—enhances accessibility. Direct fleet placement at airports assures travelers of our readiness even in the event of flight delays, reinforcing our reputation for reliability.
