"Novartis has established a robust presence in Kuwait for more than 30 years."

How has Novartis contributed to the advancement of Kuwait’s healthcare system over the years?

Novartis has established a robust presence in Kuwait for more than 30 years. In 2019, we initiated operations with KDIPA as a distinct legal entity, assuming various functions within the country. Our dedicated teams encompass legal, supply chain, marketing, commercial, and medical professionals. Despite Novartis’ extensive R&D endeavors aimed at addressing patients’ diverse needs, we encountered significant medical challenges necessitating innovative solutions. Our ongoing efforts are focused on identifying and delivering the best medications across various therapeutic areas, such as cardiovascular, multiple sclerosis, immunology and dermatology, and oncology. Concurrently, we actively engage in clinical trials across multiple centers across Kuwait to comprehensively study the efficacy of specific medications. One key aspect of Novartis’ contribution to Kuwait’s healthcare landscape is our regulatory team, who work directly with the Ministry of Health and local representatives to ensure timely launches of innovative medicine and accelerated access to patients in Kuwait. Additionally, our medical team provides the necessary scientific data crucial for healthcare professionals.

How does your team navigate the regulatory requirements set by the government?

Our approach involves close collaboration with both the regulatory department and the health authorities to ensure accelerated patient access to innovative medicine. When it comes to new product launches specifically, the Novartis regulatory team partners closely with the Drug Control Department in the Ministry of Health to ensure all registration requirements are fulfilled in line with local regulations aiming to provide best-in-class medication to patients in need. By maintaining a strong working relationship with the relevant departments, we ensure alignment and a shared commitment to achieving our goals.

How does Novartis embrace innovation in terms of the technology it brings to Kuwait?

Novartis, in its commitment to technological advancement, collaborates with leading global high-tech companies to ensure it remains as innovative as possible. Novartis is steadfast in leveraging cutting-edge technology through ongoing partnerships, aiming to bring the latest advancements to Kuwait and deliver its best products to the market.
