This year will be the first time that an ALN Annual Gathering is held in North Africa. The region is one of the wealthiest on the continent, with an expected growth rate of 3.5% by 2017. And Morocco has become one of the region’s most competitive economies in recent years by reducing its budget deficit and investing in early education and innovation. We applaud Morocco’s efforts to integrate economically with its neighbors across the continent through its pan-African investment strategies. King Mohammed VI has taken many tours across Africa to identify investment opportunities, and Moroccan firms have a presence in dozens of African countries. As a country that lives on the crossroads of a rich cultural heritage and a bright, modern future, Morocco is an exciting place to watch.
