Airport PPP Summit
06 December 2017Riyadh
Challenging economic conditions due to the low oil price environment in the GCC region are forcing countries to focus on economic diversity and to move away from the dependency of oil. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is looking to privatize its infrastructure, improve efficiency and boost employment. Saudi Arabia, in the midst of a massive reform program to cut its dependence on oil revenues, said it plans to transfer ownership of its airports to its sovereign wealth fund with the view to privatize them. Each airport will be transferred to a separate company ahead of being sold off and Saudi Arabia has already delegated more work for its airports to the private sector in recent years.
