The oil and gas sector has marked institutional and business milestones in the history of Colombia that have allowed the country to consolidate a leading and competitive industry that furthers the country’s economic and social development, contributing significant resources that are evident in the development of regions and in the well-being of the communities.

Crude was first discovered in 1918 in the La Cira-Infantas field (Barrancabermeja), which marked the course of oil in Colombia. In 2018, the oil industry celebrates 100 years of existence in the country. A fact that should be highlighted by the actors that have helped achieve national and international recognition.

For this reason, the business and professional associations of engineering, oil and gas of Colombia have chosen to congregate their most important events at the Oil and Gas Summit to commemorate 100 years of this important industry.
