Event Description

The Regional Energy Co-operation Summit takes place each year in a different city of the region and the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire is the host country from 25-27 January 2017. The Summit comes as an evolution of the successful Powering Africa: Ghana meeting which took place in 2015. Energy, infrastructure and finance will form the cornerstones of the discussions. Cross-border cooperation in West Africa is crucial to develop mechanisms that facilitate trade and power exchange among States. Sessions will address cross-border co-operation and regional integration, unlocking West Africa’s investments in energy and infrastructure to support industrialisation. This meeting so for has the full support of the Ministry of Power of the Republic of Ghana, GRIDCo, Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), and the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) as well as the West African Power Pool (WAPP) and ECOWAS Regional Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERERA).
