Event Description

Uganda’s first oil production is expected in 2021, hitting its peak at around 200,000 bpd by 2026, making the country the fourth largest oil producer in sub-Saharan Africa.

With a stabilised government, numerous tax and financial breaks for investors, the refinery underway, pipeline development and pound for pound one of the most cost effective options for oil extraction available, the Albertine Graben offers a real opportunity.
Hosted by Hon. Eng. Minister Irene Muloni, and under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, Uganda; UIOGS is supported by the Uganda National Oil Company and Petroleum Authority Uganda.

The programme examines the future of oil and gas exploration and production in Uganda, setting out the government’s vision and implementation for sustainable, long term development and bringing them together with potential private sector partners and other stakeholders, to share announcements and successes and discuss any hurdles that have been encountered.
