Investment Fund of Kazakhstan and TBY partners once again

TBY and the Investment Fund of Kazakhstan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to facilitate research for the publication of The Business Year: Kazakhstan 2017. The partnership, signed in Astana by Giuliana Caruso, TBY’s Country Manager of Kazakhstan, and Ermek Sakishev, Chairman of the Investment Fund, is an extension of an agreement signed last year in which both parties seek to further strengthen their cooperation.

The Investment Fund of Kazakhstan, a subsidiary of national management company Baiterek Holding, is a government institution tasked with increasing the rate of return on public investments and improving the activities of development institutions in Kazakhstan. TBY and the fund signed their first partnership agreement in 2015 for the release of The Business Year: Kazakhstan 2016. Given the nature of the fund’s activities in dealing with government institutions and large firms, the partnership provides TBY with access to information and leaders in Kazakhstan’s public sector to further strengthen the publication’s relationship with the government.

Mr. Sakishev welcomed the collaboration, stating: “The Investment Fund of Kazakhstan is headed toward openness and transparency in all of its work and internal business processes, and we are pleased to continue our cooperation with such a major company as The Business Year. We hope that next year will see a fruitful collaboration in various fields and it will be rich in the exchange of experiences, knowledge, technology, and innovation. As a development institution, we hope that many foreign investors will learn more about local enterprises via the publication of The Business Year: Kazakhstan 2016.”
Ms. Caruso noted: “The Business Year is committed to the public sector in all the countries we operate. In Kazakhstan we have a clear mission to help place Kazakhstan on the international map as an investment destination. For this reason, we truly value a partnership with the Investment Fund of Kazakhstan, which will leverage TBY’s partnership with the government, and we believe this partnership will serve to achieve our common goal of promoting Kazakhstan.”

The Business Year: Kazakhstan 2017, which will feature around 150 face-to-face interviews with senior executives and government officials across all sectors, will be published in 1Q2017 and will feature the views and insights of key business leaders. In addition to interviews, TBY will feature sector analyses, focus articles, and contributions from foreign guest speakers discussing Kazakhstan’s economic future. The publication will be widely distributed both locally and internationally at major economic forums, investment forums, and conferences all over the world as well as at the Astana EXPO.
