TBY meets Tahir Bin Salim bin Abdullah Al Amri

Muscat, January 9, 2019—TBY, a global media group that has been providing investors, businesses, and governments with first-hand insights into the world’s most dynamic markets, sat down for a meeting with HE Tahir Bin Salim bin Abdullah Al Amri, the Executive President of the Central Bank of Oman (CBO), to discuss the direction of the Central Bank of Oman and his view on how technology can facilitate the development of a more transparent and efficient financial sector.

Tahir Bin Salim bin Abdullah Al Amri stressed the importance of working hand in hand with the banking sector in advancing the digital transformation agenda. He also reassured investors on the joint initiatives that are being taken with the Capital Market Authority (CMA) to develop the local debt market, deemed crucial for players not to resort necessarily to offshore funding. The conversation later verted toward finding innovative solutions to guarantee a certain degree of independence in monetary policy despite the Omani Riyal being pegged to the US Dollar.

TBY’s team, led by Elena Barreiro, TBY Country Director for Oman, and Gabriele de Leva, TBY Country Editor for Oman, illustrated to Al Amri the goals and KPIs of The Business Year: Oman 2020. The project, supported by Oman’s Public Authority for Investment Promotion and Export Development, will have a special focus on innovation and will entail a special set of programs for the 50th anniversary of the Blessed Renaissance March.

TBY’s first-hand research reaches key international investors and members of the global business community, targeting international financial institutions, international corporations, investors, accountancy firms, industrial conglomerates, and governmental organizations.
