TBY renews strategic collaboration with British Chamber of Commerce of Panama

For the second year in a row, the British Chamber of Commerce of Panama has renewed its strategic research partnership with TBY.

TBY is a leading research firm and publisher of annual economic resources on national economies. Present in over 25 countries, TBY provides first-hand access to the people and ideas shaping business and policy throughout the world. Following the release of The Business Year: Panama 2016, TBY is currently conducting research for its 2017 edition.

The MoU was signed by Samantha Whay, Chairperson of the British Chamber of Commerce, and Federica Torgneur, TBY’s Country Manager for Panama.

The strategic partnership will allow TBY to deepen its research activity, which will include more than 150 face-to-face interviews with senior executives and government officials across all sectors of the Panamanian economy.

Samantha Whay commented: “The UK is the second-largest investor in Panama. It is our interest to promote and enhance investment to the country even further. Panamanian imports from the UK were valued at USD265 million in 2015. Considering the strategic vision of the current government, and in light of the recently expanded Canal, there is tremendous room for growth.”

When signing the strategic collaboration with the chamber, Federica Torgneur remarked: “The Business Year: Panama 2017 will be the fourth annual edition of TBY focused on Panama. It will be published in the first quarter of 2017 and will feature the views and insights of key business leaders.”

In addition to interviews, TBY will feature sector analyses, focus articles, and contributions from foreign guest speakers discussing Panama’s economic future.

The publication will be widely distributed both locally and internationally at major economic forums, investment forums, and conferences all over the world.
