TBY signs MoU with ADDED

Abu Dhabi, June 11, 2013—Abu Dhabi’s Department of Economic Development (ADDED) has signed a Letter of Agreement with international business research company, The Business Year (TBY), to produce The Business Year: Abu Dhabi 2014, a comprehensive periodical on the Abu Dhabi economy.

His Excellency Hamad Abdullah Al Mass, Executive Director of International Economic Relations Sector from ADDED, signed the letter of agreement with Betul Cakaloglu, Regional Director for TBY. The macroeconomic publication will be released at the beginning of 2014 and will be distributed extensively, both locally and abroad.

H.E. Hamad said that the partnership with The Business Year would help promote business opportunities and growth in the economy of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and highlight its achievements at all levels. This will be in the light of the Government’s determination to implement a package of development projects to facilitate the economic diversification and growth aims of Abu Dhabi’s Economic Vision 2030, as well as the desire to bring about the efficient financing of these initiatives.

H.E. Hamad mentioned that the agreement also stems from ADDED’s keenness to properly disseminate data and statistics related to economic developments in Abu Dhabi, set against the background of the Department’s favorable forecasts for 2014 and beyond. He said that in the short to medium term Abu Dhabi would achieve some significant developmental milestones, helping to drive further achievements. The partnership with The Business Year will contribute to the provision of a comprehensive picture of Abu Dhabi for potential investors, and for businesspeople considering opportunities in the UAE generally, and in the Emirate in particular.

The Abu Dhabi 2014 edition will feature more than 150 leading executives and government ministers from the local economy providing direct insights into market growth and trends.

TBY’s business intelligence publications have been applauded by top executives, policy makers, and international media all around the world, including representatives from the World Bank, the World Trade Organization, the World Economic Forum, the International Finance Corporation, and the Asian Development Bank.

The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) is responsible for proposing the economic and commercial policy of Abu Dhabi Emirate and preparing the plans and programs required for implementing this policy.
