The Business Year in Oman signs MoU with MCIIP for upcoming publication

July 17, 2023—The Business Year (TBY), a global media group that has been providing investors, businesses, and governments with first-hand insights into the world’s most dynamic markets for over a decade, has penned a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Undersecretary for Investment Promotion at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, Ibtisam Al Farooji.

According to the agreement, TBY and the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion will collaborate on research for upcoming the publication The Business Year: Oman 2024. The publication is set to be a valuable resource for investors, business leaders, and policymakers seeking in-depth knowledge about investment opportunities in the Gulf country. The publication will highlight Oman key’s competitive strengths, as well as the state’s efforts in promoting private-sector development.

Ibtisam Al Farooji previously worked as the general director of investor services at one of the country’s top firms, focusing on sustainability and social development and contributing to the creation of over 59,000 jobs. The company also developed two industrial cities in Ibri and Khasbah, both of which are strategically located to attract investment in different sectors.

Adriana Peralta, TBY Country Editor, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership and the possibilities it brings, saying; “This collaboration allows us, for once again, to widen our coverage and present deeper insights into the local economy.”

In a recent interview, Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry & Investment, told TBY; “It is in our DNA as Omanis to travel, engage, trade, and sell. As of the last count, we proudly export to over 130 countries, and our non-oil exports have been rising steadily of late.” He also described recent policies put into action by the government as historic steps toward ensuring the right support is in place for Omani businesses, helping them protect and create jobs and secure the country’s economic future.

The Business Year: Oman 2024 is set to reach a wide domestic and international audience, and will be available on key business information platforms such as Bloomberg Terminal, Refinitiv Eikon, Dow Jones Factiva, and FactSet, as well as on PressReader, Issuu, and Google Books.
